* THE WORLD MISSION SUNDAY. Today is The World Mission Sunday. This Mission Sunday marks exactly 100 years since Pope Pius XI established this World Day of Prayer and Solidarity for the Missions (1926–2026). The Pope emphasizes that the missionary renewal of the Church depends primarily on spiritual communion, reconciliation, and overcoming polarization within Christian communities. He describes evangelization as a true "act of love" intended for everyone, especially the poorest. In his message and accompanying video address, the Pope recalls his childhood in the USA and his later missionary work in Peru, testifying to how the prayers and gifts of the faithful tangibly transform missionary communities.
Today we also collect donations for help missions and missionaries. Pope's message for this day has the motto: One in Christ, united in mission. You can find it in full at: https://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/en/messages/mission/documents/20260125-giornata-missionaria.html
