* WORLD MARRIAGE DAY. On the second Sunday of February, our Church celebrates World Marriage Day, dedicated to married couples, husbands and wives as pillars of the family, which is the foundation of both the Church and society. It seeks to celebrate and value the sacrament of marriage, to emphasize the beauty of marital fidelity, sacrifice and joy in everyday married life.

* DIGNITY OF HUMAN LIFE SUNDAY. The Archdiocese of Ottawa–Cornwall celebrates Dignity of Human Life Sunday today. This day is the renewed form of the former Pro-Life Sunday. In 2026, our focus will be on the sanctity and dignity of human life at the end of life, encouraging prayer, reflection, and pastoral support for the elderly, the sick, the vulnerable, those nearing death, and their caregivers. The Church affirms that compassionate, high-quality palliative care is the proper and ethical response to suffering at the end of life, providing comfort, dignity, and support to both the person and their loved ones.

ARCBISHOP’S FUND FOR MISSION ADVANCEMENT – SPECIAL COLLECTION (February 22). On the First Sunday of Lent, we invite your contribution to the Diocesan & Missionary Works special collection, which supports the Archbishop’s Fund for Mission Advancement. This fund helps Archbishop Damphousse respond quickly and generously to real needs and to opportunities that support the mission of the Church, especially here in the Archdiocese of Ottawa–Cornwall. Most of what is given stays right here in our diocese, supporting evangelization, youth and family ministry, Catholic education and campus ministry, and other charitable works close to home. Thanks to your generosity, more than $60,000 was raised last year. This year, our goal is $100,000. Thank you for being a part of the mission!

* FAMILY BLESSING REVIEW. This year I visited 57 families who applied for a blessing, which is a bit better number than the last year. As usual, there was a certain number of absent and sick people who could not physically welcome the priest in their homes, but the priest should be able to come to every house in the parish at least once a year. It's not about the financial gift nor a lunch or dinner, but praying together and the opportunity to meet and have a conversation in person. Thank you everyone for your generosity and hospitality. I also invite those who did not have their home blessed this year, to do so next year.

* ENVELOPES AND CALENDARS. If somebody didn't pick up his new donation envelopes or calendars, he can do so at the stand by the entrance door.

* CATECHISM CLASSES FOR CONFIRMANDS AND CANDIDATES FOR THE FIRST COMMUNION. Catechism classes are back on schedule. Candidates for the First Communion will have class this week, on Friday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m. Confirmands will have their class next week, on Friday, February 20 at 7:30 p.m. Attending Sunday mass is implied for all.

* MAŠKARE EVENT. Croatoan's annual Maškare event is taking place this Friday, February 13, 2026 in the St Leopold Mandić Church Hall. Doors open at 6pm, with CROATOAN performances beginning at 6:30pm. Entry is $20 with a costume, and $25 without a costume. Prizes for best costume will be awarded.
