*POPE FRANCIS PASSED AWAY. Pope Francis passed away on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 89, in his residence at the Casa Santa Marta in the Vatican. He was buried yesterday in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. He dedicated his entire life to the service of the Lord and his Church. With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we entrust the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the One and Triune God. Requiem Mass for the Pope was yesterday in our church. Archbishop Damphousse will celebrate the Requiem Mass for the Pope in Saint-François-d'Assise Church, 20 Fairmont Avenue, on Thursday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m.

*DEATH NOTIFICATION. After grave illness, Ivan Peček has died on April 22, in Ottawa, at the age of 61. Funeral Mass will be in our church on Monday, May 5 at 11:00 a.m. Funeral at the Hope cemetery to follow. May the Lord grant him eternal peace.

*FIRST FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. First Friday of the month is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and sacramental confession. Half an hour before the Mass there will be the Eucharsitic Adoration and a chance for confession in our church. First Saturday of every month is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and prayer for vocation.

*MARIAN DEVOTION IN MAY. Marian month of May begins this week. We will pray together Holy Rosary and Lauretan Litany half an hour before the Mass.

*PARISH COUNCIL MEETING. Will be held on Wednesday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the conference hall.

*CATECHISM CLASSES FOR THE CONFIRMANDS. Next catechism class for the confirmands will be on Friday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m.

*ST. LEOPOLD MANDIĆ AND MOTHER’S DAY PARISH LUNCHEON. On Sunday, May 11, after mass, we organize a traditional parish luncheon on the occasion of the annual parish patron feast - St. Leopold Mandić Day and Mother's Day. Ticket prices are $30 for adults, $20 for students, free for children under 6 years old. Reservations at the parish office (613-722-7135) and Vinko Marinković (613-822-3321).

*47th ANNUAL CONCERT AND BANQUET. CROATOAN invites you to attend their spring concert and banquet. The CONCERT is on Thursday, May 1 at Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe (101 Centrepointe Drive). Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and must be purchased at www.croatoan.ca/springconcert. Don't wait, concert will sell out! The BANQUET is in the church hall on Saturday, May 3. The doors open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $70 for adults and $60 for seniors, students and performers. Children under 5 are free. Join us for dinner and live music by "Grupa Baština".
