*FIRST FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. First Friday of the month is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and sacramental confession. Half an hour before the mass there will be a Eucharistic Adoration and a chance for confession in our church. First Friday of every month is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and prayer for vocation.
*FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION OF THE LORD AND ST. BLAISE. We have the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord and St. Blaise Day coming up this week. Therefore, on the next Sunday, at the beginning of the Mass there will be traditional blessing of candles, and after the Mass individual blessing of throats.
*CATECHISM CLASSES FOR CONFIRMANDS AND CANDIDATES FOR THE FIRST COMMUNION. Catechism classes for the confirmands are starting again in our church this Friday, February 2 at 7:30 p.m. Candidates for the First Communion will have their class another week, on Friday, February 9 at 7:45 p.m. Attending Sunday mass is implied for all.
*ENVELOPES AND CALENDARS. If somebody didn't pick up his new donation envelopes or calendars, he can do so at the stand by the entrance door.
*BILINGUAL MASS. Earlier, we introduced a Mass in English for those who don't speak Croatian at all or very little, but it did not fulfill its purpose because many felt separated from the rest of the community. That's why we decided to introduce a bilingual Mass once a month. The Mass will continue to be in Croatian, but the Liturgy of the Word will be also in English, so that everyone can be included. We plan to have the first Mass of that kind on Sunday, February 11 at 11 a.m. We are also looking for volunteer readers for Mass readings in English.
*BLESSING OF FAMILIES. Ends up this week. Sign-up list is still available on the table by the entrance door, or you can email or phone the parish office. During the blessing of home there should be crucifix and a lit candle on the table.

*MAŠKARE - MARDI GRAS COSTUME PARTY. You are invited to Croatoan's annual Maškare party featuring live music from Ottawa's own T.S.Melodije. It will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 in the church hall. Dress up and join us for a fun evening of live music and dance. Prizes for best costumes will be awarded! Light food and drinks will be available for purchase. Tickets (available at the door only): $20 in costume, $25 no costume.
