* THE BANNS OF MARRIAGE. Ante Ćavar, son of Nedjeljko Ćavar and Darka nee Leko from Ottawa, takes for his lawful wedded wife Alyssa Karli Rimac, daughter of Ante Rimac and Susan Monica Vogt from Ottawa. If anyone knows cause or just impediment why these persons should not be joined together in Holy Matrimony, he should declare it to the parish priest. 

* CATECHISM CLASSES FOR THE CANDIDATES FOR THE FIRST COMMUNION AND CONFIRMANDS. Catechism classes for the candidates for the First Communion starts this Friday, September 25 at 7:30 p.m. in our church, and for confirmands next Friday, October 2 at 7:30 p.m. Attending Sunday Mass i san obligatory part of the preparation for the sacraments, as well as part of the Third God's Commandment.

* THANK YOU. As we conclude this celebration, words of thanks are in order. First and foremost, thank you to God, who has guided us to this moment. Thank you to those who went before us and made it possible for us to enjoy the fruits our parish yields today. I extend my gratitude to Archbishop Damphousse for leading our local Church and presiding over this Mass. Thank you to the Croatian Embassy in Ottawa, led by Ambassador Skračić, for their support and cooperation. Thank you to Ivan Basar and Croatoan for the music and for wearing these beautiful traditional costumes for this Mass. Thank you to Nikola Basar for organizing and preparing the materials needed for today’s liturgy. Thank you to the members of the Parish Council and other volunteers who prepared everything for today’s celebration. A special thank you to the Žuger family for their hard work in preparing the historical exhibition awaiting us: to Nicholas for the countless hours spent working and gathering photographs for the display panels; to Ivan for preparing the texts; and to Georgie for the translations between Croatian and English. Thank you to our cook, Lovro, and the other kitchen volunteers who ensured that our communion at the dining table would be so lovely and festive. Thank you, too, to all of you who actively participate in the life of our parish and contribute to its continued vitality and growth. If I have inadvertently left anyone out, please know that you are included in this heartfelt "Thank you!" May the good Lord be the abundant reward for you all.

* 62^nd HNNS TOURNAMENT – THANK YOU. I wanted to extend a very heartfelt thank you to all of those from our church community who stepped up to volunteer and help make the 62^nd HNNS Soccer Tournament a success. We strongly urge everyone to continue to get involved in community events and gatherings. For a small community, we do not have the luxury of having the attitude of “Someone else will do the work”. We must all roll up our sleeves and get things done if we are to have well organized and successful events in the future. We are extremely grateful and proud that many of you answered the call to help and were there all weekend ensuring that the event went off safely for all participants and guests. If you were not able to volunteer this time around, there will be other opportunities in the future.

 * 15^th ANNUAL ST. LEOPOLD MANDIC GOLF TOURNAMENT. The 15^th Annual Church Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday October 4^th at 1:00PM at Emerald Links Golf Course.
