*PALM SUNDAY PARISH LUNCHEON. Next Sunday is Palm Sunday and we will have a traditional parish luncheon after Mass. Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for students and children under 6 for free. Book your tickets at the Parish Office (613-722-7135) or Vinko Marinković (613-822-3321).
*THE LENT. We are coming close to the end of Lent and beginning of the Holy Week. Let us persevere in fasting, prayer and almsgiving. Abstinence from meat is obligatory on Lent Fridays. This Thursday, March 21, is the Easter Confession Day in our parish from 6:00 p.m. There will be two priests available, with the possibility of confession in Croatian and English. Remember to sign up your old and sick who cannot come to church, so the priest can visit them, hear their confession and bring them Holy Communion before Easter. We have the Way of the Cross this Friday, half an hour before Mass. Next Sunday is Palm Sunday, when the Gospel of the Passion of the Lord is read during the Mass, so there will be no Way of the Cross. I invite those who are interested to read Passion of the Lord in the church to remain few minutes on the meeting after the Mass.
*CATECHISM CLASSES FOR CANDIDATES FOR THE FIRST COMMUNION AND CONFIRMANDS. This Friday, March 22 there is a class for the candidates for the First Communion 7:45 p.m. Next Friday is Good Friday and there is no catechism classes. Anyway, confirmands and candidates for the First Communion should take active part in preparations for the most important Christian holiday – Easter. That includes coming to confession before Easter and attending Holy Triduum Masses and rites on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. The Friday after Easter, April 5, there will be catechism class for candidates for the First Communion at 7:45 p.m.
