*ASH WEDNESDAY AND LENT SEASON. The liturgical season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence. Lenten Fridays are days of abstinence. Fasting binds all persons from 18 to 59 years old, unless prevented by poor health. On days of fast, one full meal is allowed. Two other smaller meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to one's own needs. Eating between meals is not allowed although fluids may be taken. Abstinence from meat binds all persons who are 14 and older, unless prevented by poor health. Lent is a penitential season and, as such, religious practices such as daily Mass, the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the Stations of the Cross, works of charity and justice, and acts of self-denial are highly encouraged. Blessing of ashes will be held on Ash Wednesday at the beginning and on Sunday at the end of the Mass. Way of the Cross will take place on Friday and Sunday, half an hour before Mass.

*CATECHISM CLASSES FOR CANDIDATES FOR THE FIRST COMMUNION AND CONFIRMANDS. Catechism classes for the candidates for the First Communion and the confirmands go as usual. This Friday, February 16 there is a class for the confirmands at 7:30 p.m, and the candidates for the First Communion will have their class on the other Friday, February 23 at 7:30 p.m. Attending Sunday mass is implied for all.

*ENVELOPES AND CALENDARS. If somebody didn't pick up his new donation envelopes or calendars, he can do so at the stand by the entrance door.

*BILINGUAL MASS. Today we had our first bilingual Mass, and we plan to have the next one on March 10. After Mass, everyone is invited to our church hall for a gathering with cappuccino, dessert, foosball, ping pong and PS5 for children. Special thanks to Tomislav Šamija for all the donations of finance, time and labour invested in the preparation of these Masses and gatherings.
