*THE RETREAT FOR GRADES 9-12 STUDENTS. The Archdiocese is inviting grades 9-12 to a diocesan NET retreat on Dec 7th from 10:00am-4:30pm. The goal is to provide an opportunity for high schoolers to grow in their faith and connect with other young Catholics. We know not every parish is able to host retreats for this age group; we want to provide a diocesan-wide event so that youth from all parishes can attend. Highschool is such a critical time in a young person's life and is often when they begin to either deepen their faith or draw away from it. NET Ministries does a great job at making faith accessible and exciting for young people and giving each an opportunity to encounter Jesus in a personal way. You can find an event description here: Promotional Kit: Gr 9-12 Diocesan NET Retreat - Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall. Poster with QR-code is available on the bulletin board.
There will be an identical retreat for grades 6-8 coming this January. You can find the details for promotion here: Promotional Kit: Gr 6-8 Diocesan NET Retreat - Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall
This retreat takes place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish, this is a retreat run by NET Canada and the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall.

*FIRST FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. First Friday of the month is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and sacramental confession. Half an hour before the Mass there will be the Eucharsitic Adoration and a chance for confession in our church. First Saturday of every month is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and prayer for vocation.
*ST. NICHOLAS DAY. December 6 is St. Nicholas Day, so the next Sunday, December 8, after mass, St. Nick is coming to make our children happy with small gifts. Bring the children to the mass, and after the mass, the students of the Croatian School will perform their short recital in the church hall.
*CATECHISM CLASSES FOR THE COMMUNICANDS AND CONFIRMANDS. This week the communicands will have their catechism class on Friday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m., and the confirmands on the next Friday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m. in our church. Attending Sunday Mass is standard part of preparations for the sacraments as well as the third God's Commandment.
*CHRISTMAS CONFESSION DAY. It will be on Wednesday, December 18 at 6:00 p.m. There will be two priests available: myself and pastor of Croatian parish in Montreal. There is an opportunity to have confession in Croatian or English language. After the confession, there will be mass at 7:00 p.m. None of the faithful should meet Christmas without sacramental confession unless there is a grave reason. Let's all come together and have a good spiritual preparation for Christmas. Also remember to register your sick and elderly for home visit, so priest can come, hear confession and bring Holy Communion to them before Christmas.
*NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY. Our parish will organize New Year's Eve Party with live music, dinner and dancing. Ticket price: adults $90, students $60, children under 6 for free.
